  • Chris Ashbeck, Physical Therapist and Owner

    CHRIS ASHBECK, PT, DPT, OCS

    PHYSICAL THERAPIST AND OWNER

    Chris understands that every patient’s story is unique. As such, their treatment plan should be just as unique as they are. Chris utilizes a multimodal approach to not only treat the biological sources of pain but the psychosocial aspects as well. Chris is a residency trained and board certified orthopedic specialist. He is intimately involved in physical therapy education as a clinical laboratory assistant in the doctor of physical therapy program at UWSP. He also holds multiple leadership roles in the WI state chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association.

    Chris’s most enjoyable outdoor activity is running and he is a member of the 1000 mile run club (achieving 1000 miles ran in a calendar year). He is an avid Wisconsin sports fan and cheers on the Brewers, Packers, Bucks and Badgers. He and is wife have two daughters.

    MATTHEW IRONSIDE, PT, DPT

    Matthew has a passion for helping his clients reach their maximum functional potential through manual techniques, individually tailored exercise programs, and education to empower patients to heal from within and maintain the lifestyle they desire beyond their formal care at Pinnacle. “Education is key. Knowledge is power and it is our job to give patients the power to heal, move, and function in the world.” After becoming a lifelong Badger, Matthew returned to his hometown and has been practicing in the area for 15 years. Outside of the clinic Matthew is on the go with his family. He and his wife have 4 growing children who are always involved in some sporting event or school activity. Matthew and his family also have a passion for the outdoors. Be it running, biking, fishing, or hunting they are sure to be out in the current Wisconsin season enjoying life!

  • HEATHER MCCARTHY, PT, DPT

    Doctor of Physical Therapy

    Heather addresses a broad spectrum of orthopedic, neurological, and pediatric conditions. These include vertigo and vestibular rehabilitation, stroke recovery, gait and balance training, global developmental delay, and Parkinson’s Disease. She holds LSVT BIG certification, specializing in Parkinson’s Disease treatment.

    Her passion lies in getting to know her patients personally. She aims to understand their daily functional goals to devise a treatment plan that truly impacts their lives. Heather listens intently to her patients, treating them holistically rather than just addressing their medical diagnosis. She leverages the creative aspects of physical therapy, choosing or inventing exercises that her patients will find enjoyable and that support their objectives.

    Beyond her clinical work, Heather is dedicated to education and contributing to her field by regularly mentoring students through internships. Additionally, she conducts a weekly group exercise class for the Wisconsin Rapids community members affected by Parkinson’s Disease.

    In her leisure time, Heather enjoys running and gardening. Together with her husband and their two children, they are often seen exploring the local playgrounds in the area.
